One of the most positive aspects to have come out of a challenging year is a return to natural living. From a lockdown time, in which nature and outdoor space were our greatest luxuries, a slower pace of living and the healing power (for mind and body) of rural life has been highlighted.
For those living in the city, who wishes to escape the hustle and bustle, the staycation trend is the ideal way to explore new areas of the UK but also enjoy all the health benefits of the simple things.
JASON was built upon the idea of natural living, all the way back in 1959, and has been following it's code of honour ever since: select safe, gentler, effective ingredients, never test products on animals, innovate and improve continuously.
We came up with some ideas for a JASON style rural staycation and Jason products that can be shared by all the family.
Yoga retreat
There are yoga retreats all over the UK willing to accommodate all ages and stages of yoga practice and mindfulness. A report conducted by The British Wheel of Yoga, the largest UK run yoga organisation, about the therapeutic effects of yoga, reported positive conclusions about yoga for people with depression, and as an effective treatment for stress in the short term: improving aspects of mood, improved emotional and cognitive functioning, a decrease in the stress hormone measured through salivary cortisol levels at certain times of the day.
We suggest including in your travel essentials:
After a day of stretching and yoga practice, indulge your mind and body in a long hot soak with this award winning, JASON Himalayan Pink Salt 2 in 1 Foaming Bath Soak & Body Wash - full of soothing magnesium, hydrating potassium and PH balanced Calcium.
City + Culture Break
You don't need to leave home soil to learn something new about the history of an area or its culture. Cities across the UK from Bath to Belfast with Oxford between are a feast for street wanders, foodies, spotting famous film locations, architecture lessons and historical landmarks - Roman Bath, anyone (?) - but first make sure to buy your copy of The Good Hotel Guide 2021 (Great Britain and Ireland) first.
We suggest including in your hand luggage:
Daily cultural strolls and walking tours can leave your skin extra exposed to UV rays and harmful free radical damage. This JASON Family Natural Sunscreen SPF45 is a non-greasy, water resistant formula that offers broad-spectrum UV protection for all the family.
Glamping
If you want to experience the Great British Outdoors without the kids and your clothes coming back destroyed by mud and dirt, glamping is the best staycation option for you. It's worth finding off the beaten path adventures to make the most of the British countryside and explore local handmade food and artisanal driven activities to keep the kids occupied. Glamping accommodation can be found around the country from tree houses to shepherds hut's with beds and bathrooms!
We suggest including in your backpack:
What with all that time outside playing in the woods, bike riding, and cooking on the barbecue, this JASON Softening Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion is a botanically rich, non greasy daily lotion that will offer skin long lasting, deep hydration.
