This World Environment Day, it’s Time #fornature
The Message from World Environment Day
The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature. Yet, these are exceptional times in which nature is sending us a message:
- ∙ To care for ourselves we must care for nature.
- ∙ It’s time to wake up. To take notice. To raise our voices.
- ∙ It’s time to build back better for People and Planet.
This World Environment Day, it’s Time for Nature.
Making a Difference Through What We Do
As a company we strive to have as little impact on the environment as possible through our business, JĀSÖN UK headquarters are classed as BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) Excellent and embraces the latest energy saving eco-technologies.
The business park we are located in is one of the first multi-unit developments to offer the latest green technologies to reduce carbon emissions – a targeted 25% reduction in carbon emissions compared to a 2010 warehouse. Around 35% of these savings will come from renewable sources which include photovoltaic panels, rain water harvesting, and air source heat pumps.
The JASON brand specifically strives to create safe, wholesome and effective products for the health-minded, modern family. We safety and efficacy test all our products and have a long and evolving list of ingredients we don’t use, as well as a continually evolving sustainability practices and on-going strategy.
We do not use parabens, phthalates, GMO ingredients, petroleum derived ingredients, synthetic dyes or artificial colors, formaldehyde donors, MEA, DEA, TEA, PEG derivatives, glycols, copolymers, sodium laureth sulfate or sodium myreth sulfate, talc, nanoparticles or irradiated processes.
JASON products feature vegan ingredients, are never tested on animals and are Leaping Bunny Certified.
JASON care about our oceans and waterways so our body washes and hair care products feature biodegradable formulas. There are no synthetic plastic microbeads or ethoxylated ingredients that generate 1,4 dioxane, a water contaminant, used in products and sunscreens are reef-friendly.
The Spray Deodorant is non-aerosol and features a bag-on-valve technology that uses compressed air and no chemical propellants.
We do recognise that there are still a lot of opportunities to further advance our current packaging and sustainability initiatives, but here is where we are at today:
· All bottles, caps, jars, cartons and deodorant sticks are recyclable
· 38% of tubes are recyclable
· Cartons are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified
· Corrugated cases are SFI certified
· Hair Care bottles use 50-100% PCR materials, and we want to achieve this across the whole range of products by next year
· Most of our products are manufactured in a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building
